I am a lover of the paranormal and have been since 1991 when I first read L.J. Smith's series the Vampire Diaries. Most of my books are about the paranormal though I've branched off slightly with two books that will both be posted here eventually. I have been referred to as a Dark Angel, but I am not one of the Fallen Ones... I'm sure my parents had quite a laugh when naming me Rimmon because it is the name of an actual Fallen Angel who became a demon. I am an oddity just the same though for I am a Halfling. My mother Dracaena is a demon, and my father Lucian is an angel. In my youth I bounced back and forth between Heaven and Hell, that is until I turned eighteen. On my 18th birthday I was cast out of Heaven and banned from entering Hell. I am an anomaly and viewed as unfit to dwell in either realm.

For the last three years I have struggled to make a living on earth and have just recently conceded to Samael, a.k.a., The Grim Reaper and have taken on a job for him. For some strange reason he no longer wants to be the Angel of Death but rather a human! Samael has found a way to achieve this goal too. If he were to find a â€˜Pure Soul' and convince the human soul to willingly give him their soul, he can absorb/consume the spirit, transform and become a human himself, moon knows why...

Ah, the Black Sun Academy. What can I say? I have spent the last three and a half years of my life schooling and training here. To the outside world our school looks like any other typical University. Red brick structure with white trim where appropriate. A college like campus setting with dorms for students and housing for faculty.

Within these walls though, lies a secret. This is not your typical high school. Oh no, this is a school that only produces the best of the best-the elite in the witch hunter's community. Yes, you have read that correctly. Witch hunters!

My lineage can be traced back to my great-great, whatever grandfather who was the famous Mathew Hopkins; Witch Finder General. Born during the 1620's in Great Wenham, Suffolk; England, my grandfather hunted close to 200 witches over the course of three years before laws and restrictions throughout the country began to change. He slowly faded from the lime light but only within the public eye. Amongst our community he was and still is praised for all he accomplished with his stint in history.

So of course, my family, including me, Alina Hopkins; rank near the top of the social ladder and very high standards have been set for me to achieve within our community. No pressure, right? Luckily, I have always excelled in all activities I have taken on. When graduation rolls around in 8 months, I will also be the highest ranked female witch hunter trainee to have walked through the doors of the Academy. Making my family proud!

Life couldn't be more perfect. I have the most awesome best friend, Ella. I will be turning 18 soon, graduation just around the corner and parents who love me. What could possibly go wrong... other than EVERYTHING!

Harper Henson is 19 years old and going to college in hopes of obtaining an English Literature degree (specifically in Creative Writing) while her mother forces her to participate in beauty pageants as it's the only way her mother Laura Henson is willing to pay for her college tuition. Harper who is a shy bookworm type of girl hates participating in the pageants but if she wants her mother to pay for schooling, she must comply with her mother's wishes.

Maxwell Craine is a 22-year-old college student who is nearly done with college. He is participating in a program the college offers called P.I.T. (or a professor in training). He has a secret though as he's also a famous rock start in a top charting band called VEILED SHADOWS. To the groupies and fans, he's known as 'X', but the band has gone on hiatus so that he and his bandmates can finish college and get their degrees. The band was wise enough to decide to wear masks while on stage and so they've been able to come and go as they please without their fans knowing they attend college with famous rock stars.

When Harper bumps into Max at the bar where they are doing one of two shows before their hiatus officially starts, attraction is instantaneous between the two even though Ma'X' is wearing a mask and Harper never sees his face. Starting her Creative Writing class two days later, Harper never suspects that the P.I.T. of her Creative Writing class could possibly be the lead singer (who she made out with) of VEILED SHADOWS! Harpers life is a whirlwind of crazy and just as she realizes she's fallen in love with Max, her mother, Laura, has her meet up to share some news, news that will shatter Harper's world!
