Born in Toledo, Ohio, when I was five years old I saw my first horror film \"Dawn of the Dead.\" This original horror film created by George Romero would affect me for the rest of my life. I became very engulfed in horror and monsters. As a child I would spend hours drawing my favorite monsters, from Godzilla to the off the wall zombies that were present in Romero's film. I was also very into comics and the concept of the \"hero\". I began to realize that a hero was only as great as the monster he faced was terrible. From this realization I began creating my own storylines accompanied with my own artistic skill. Over time I went from working with pencils and pens to working digitally by both working in 2D and 3D. I would scan my work in and then digitally paint the characters.

I truly felt I had found myself in the digital artistic field and went on to get my B.A. in digital arts at my local college, The University of Toledo. While in school I found another love in 3D animation and Modeling. I was given the opportunity to work with a teacher who encouraged my talents in 3D, but I never lost my love for horror and heroes and began to find ways to incorporate them into my work. It took me many years and learning many programs that finally allowed me to really combine my loves, horror and animation merged. There are those who feel that my work may pigeon holed me into a set place. I don't believe that, characters are characters and stories are stories, some are bad, some are good.

So many have taken a path already trail blazed by others with the hope that along that stretch of road they could find something unique or different. Some succeed, while all to often, many fail. Too many are afraid to cut down the trees (metaphorically, metaphorically) and build their own road brick by brick. I've gathered around me some fantastic storytellers, musicians and a few artists. People for whom the doors of the \"Bigs\" can't be pried open or kicked in. A lot of the stuff I've created or will create is dark and horrific with a lot of anti- heroes. The stuff I'm doing I know hasn't been done yet or seen yet. I'm keeping our concepts close to the vest but that's where I'm going.

Whether it's horror or not, I enjoy the 3D animation world. It is a world of endless possibilities. Some worlds are brightly lit others damn dark. As for a pigeon hole, I am reminded of a quote from one of my favorite movies \"It's only an island if you look at it from the water.\" (Chief Brody, Jaws 1974)
