After spending half my life on a farm in Wisconsin, and half in film production in New York City, I now reside in western Massachusetts. I am a husband and a father. Nature and society's underbelly are often the focus of my work.

My first book, Mammoth Massachusetts: A Collection of Speculative Folk Fiction, was published by Levellers Press (Amherst, MA-2023). Mammoth explores western Massachusetts history through the lens of fable, myth and folklore.

The Gnome explores the history of the Belchertown State School, formerly the Massachusetts School for the Feeble Minded. At its height, this state-of-the-art, 1,000-acre campus comprised more than 100 building including a schoolhouse, hospital, carousel, bowling alley, and theatre. Halcyon days rarely last, before long Belchertown was caught at the crossroads of mid-century budget cuts, population surges, and expansive use of pharmaceuticals. Neglect was rife, abuse was rampant, a story that's been told in other institutions...
