We’re pleased to announce the completion of our seed raise! We raised $5 million via a Regulation-CF campaign on Republic (commonly referred to as a “crowdfund”). And, we did so in just 6 days. Our journey was EXCITING, and CHALLENGING, and we’re eager to tell you all about it…

Two major tenets of the Web3/NFT space are decentralization and democratization. And at Curios, our vision is to make Web3 accessible to anyone and everyone. We chose crowdfunding for our seed raise as a means to stay true to our principles by presenting our community with the opportunity to own a piece of the growing Web3 industry.

Curios knows that the technology behind NFTs and Web3 will change the way everyone transacts online and we are working hard to make that a reality. Curios provides the easiest onramps for creators and their customers to interact in the space. Curios’ platform reduces friction and barriers on both sides of the transaction while still providing the maximum security and decentralization of the blockchain.
In spite of the recent industry shifts, the speed with which our funds were raised tells a clear story that the market is hungry to invest in Web3 companies who have a real product, real traction, and are solving real problems. Prior to fundraising, Curios put an enormous amount of effort into building the most robust and easiest-to-use NFT platform in the world. We bootstrapped the entire platform from scratch, we’ve sold over 1 million NFTs, we’ve built the ONLY NFT platform that is designed for global commerce, and most importantly, we’ve built a Web3 brand that we and others believe in.
So, how did Curios raise $5MM?
PRODUCT - Curios’ path to fundraising was counter to the usual tech-startup culture in that the company has been entirely bootstrapped by its founder, Grant Powell, prior to this seed round. Most startups require an “angel” and a “pre-seed” round to build enough product to justify a seed round. Since inception, Curios has been extremely product focused. As a result, the Curios platform was deployed quickly and was constantly put to the test by our early customers (almost all are still using our platform today). This has been our “silver bullet”, building product fast, testing with real customers, and innovating every step of the way. We believe product is everything.
TRACTION - Another aspect of Curios’ journey that is contrary to the normal startup path, is that we earned meaningful revenue early on and our revenue growth boasts an impressive 25% month over month growth on average since our first customer launched in August of 2021. Many startups don’t think about earning their first dollar until after their seed raise, which allows the startup to focus on the bigger, longer-term vision over short term gains. But in our case, we did both. Everything we built and earned revenue from was guided by our future-looking plans. Our growth and traction was a key indicator to the community that we are an important player in this space.
PROBLEM SOLVING - Curios’ crowdfund was a culmination of the last 18 months of extremely hard work, and a clear vision to bring NFT utility and adoption to the world. We’re not here to sell you a NFT with a big “roadmap” , or to convince you to invest in a hypothetical company with nothing but empty promises. Rather, we believe in leveraging the power of blockchain technology to put ownership, governance and commerce back into the hands of the people. This rings true in everything we do.
